2021 Maverick Barossa GSM

$50.00

Maverick's goal is to achieve the perfect balance of the unique terroirs and top varietals for which the Barossa is famous. Each year we make all our red wines from our low-yield estate fruit in exactly the same way – artisanally, by small vineyard bock, with minimum extraction.
The Barossa is famed for its Shiraz and GSM blends, laying claim to some of the oldest vineyards in the world. This wine is a blend from some of the Barossa’s most venerable “Ancestor” Shiraz and Grenache vines with Mourvedre – the ultimate expression of these three major Barossa varietals.

  • Vintage: 2021
  • Region: Barossa
  • Grape Varieties: Grenache, Shiraz, and Mourvedre

Tasting Notes

  • Colour: An excellent youthful hue
  • Bouquet: Combines vibrant fruit of the forest, mulberry, a purety of red berry fruits with hints of vanilla and subtle spice.
  • Palate: Lively fruit flavours abound in the mouth, deliciously charming and elegant.
  • Vineyard & Vintage Comments: Grenache is the noble variety which dominates this blend. This is from our Grenache “Ancestor” vines at Vine Vale in the heart of the hot, dry Barossa Valley planted by Heinrich Gerhard Ahrens in the 1840’s and which even today produce full-bodied opulent fruit.
